Well my head swap has taken a day longer than I was hoping due to me not having another vehicle at the house right now and murpy's law leading me to require multiple visits to the local part store. I have the intake installed now but it's late, and dark outside and I still want to give everything a good once over before attempting to fire it up.

Comp Cams 08-501-8. I didn't really want to go too much bigger as it will ultimately be restricted by the tpi intake and this is still my driver.

I think that is a pretty good 305 cam. That is one of the cams I was looking to go with, but ended up with an UltraDyne instead of the comp.

On a somewhat related note. I was messing with my AC harness and the hard black plastic line that supplies vacuum to the damper controls popped off and I can't see where it goes to. I've been looking in the factory service manual and I can't find where the connector on the interior is.

It turns purple somewhere in the harness IIRC, and goes into the back of the HVAC selector.

Sweet. I guess I'll trace the purple line to it's end and plug it in. Thanks!

So I got it running today and drove it to my mother in laws house in bothell and now either I have a serious short somewhere or my charging system isn't working. I'm going to have to wait till morning to figure out what it is.

New alternator and it's fixed. Taking her to Leavenworth today and see how the thing works.

So I got it to Leavenworth just fine. The only issues I have is it like to surge under low load and low rpm and speed and it runs a bit rough under medium load starting at about 2500. I think cyl 4 plug wire might be bad it looks like it may have been cooked.

Awesome to hear the initial voyage went well! Good luck on figuring out the drivability quirks, that's always fun. Laughing

I believe the intakes are 1.94 and exhaust are 1.50

Hopefully it doesn't take much. It is still plenty fun to drive.
