Anybody heard anything good, bad or otherwise about the brand Scorpion Performance? I'm looking at some of their rocker arms on summit but I haven't heard anything about them. I've got a set of Jegs rockers which are really nice, and I'm running some chinese cheapies on the pontiac. From what I've read scorpions are supposed to be good though.

Looks like the jegs are just a few dollars cheaper. Been running them on the truck now for a year or more.. dont remember when i put em on. Looked like a quality piece.

Hmm ok I'll look into those too. People on TGO seem to like the Scorpions. I'm concerned about running anything chinese/cheap/generic like Summit and Jegs brand since I don't really know who their made by. This motor regularly sees 6000 rpm at the strip-even street sometimes-so I want it to hold together. Thoughts?

I'm running summit branded alum. RR's. I have had them in for several years now, and probably 50k miles.

I think both Summit and Jegs get brand name manufactures to make all of their parts. Several of us have had pretty good luck over the years with their branded parts.

Thats a very good point lol. I just don't want to take the risk ya know? If they would publish who they were made by, I would feel better. But if they did that I'm sure lawsuits would ensue. Ok so then its Summit, Jegs, or Scorpion. Which would be best? I know most expensive isn't always better, but I want quality. Its so hard to decide!

One vote for comp pro magnum full rollers. Well worth the money. Durable like a tank. Not heavier than the aluminums really and they're rebuildable.

Paul is right, those are the cadillac of roller rockers. If you can afford them get them. They'll be on summit or jegs site. The chinese knockoffs i'm using are copies of them.

Damn those things look nice. Unfortunately 330 bucks is a little hefty for me. I think those Scorpions are looking pretty good. What does it mean if they aren't self aligning? I think a couple lifters might also be toast. Any preferences on those?

Looks like that price is for the new ultra-pros. Looks like the Pro Magnums are going for $285 now though.

Wow talk about inflation lol. Well this may be put on hold until I figure out exactly what is wrong with my valvetrain. There seems to be a lot of noise coming from it, but I can't track it down...

I think I am. I tightened them down according to procedure, but still had a lot of chatter. However it did wake up more power. Maybe I just didn't tighten enough? Or is some noise normal? I have hydraulic flat tappet lifters if that would explain the noise...

Shouldn't really be all that noisey for hydraulics unless it's a big cam, then you can get some noise.

Zero Lash - 1/4 turn.

if it seems noisy then, Zero Lash - 1/2 turn to make sure, incase you weren't actually at zero.

I was doing a little under 3/4 of a turn. Cam isn't big...its only .480 lift so thats why i was wondering. Maybe its something else then?
