Ok so I have the starter all tightened up in the camaro but now i cant get anything like the lights or anything that the battery would effect to work? before I removed the old starter (which btw the starter was bad) i could get the lights to work, windows to roll up, etc. the battery cables are tightned and the battery is pretty full but still no luck. What should i check for to get this fixed? HELP!

Did you connect the other two or three wires to the starter. They have the fusible links that enable all of those electrical loads - they go on the same post on the starter.

Only 1 wire goes to a small stem.. all the others go together on the big stem with the battery cable. You should be able to tell which by the size of the eye on the wire. The small stem on the motor side is the one to use too.

Theres three posts on a two post Chevy starter solenoid, eh? I must have been doing it wrong all this time.

I am sooo stupid. I only see two posts there. One for the wires with big eyelets, and one for the single wire with a small eylet. No wonder none of my cars start.

Almost all replacement solenoids on replacement starters will have all 3 posts. The 3 post was for 12v start on points distributors. Since it doesnt hurt anything the rebuilders just use the old solenoid for all rebuilds.

Those wires aren't grounds. The starter grounds where it mounts to the motor.

Lmao.. take all those wires off the back "stud" and hook them to the same post as the battery cable. Those are your main power feed wires, not grounds.

BTW you've cracked the cap on that solenoid. It won't be long til it quits working.

That's a two post 'noid. And it's cracked. And you have the fuseable links bolted to the starter case for some reason.

Take the three orange wires off the stud you have them on. Put them on the stud along with the larger black wire.

With them connected to the same post as the battery cable, they can take power from the battery and feed the electrical loads throughout the car Cool

If a guy who does know what he's talking about, and a guy who thinks he knows what he's talking about both tell you the same thing within 60 seconds, you should probably roll with it.
