So what i have been told is that the Nitto NT555 Extrmem tires are the best way to go, so i looked at them on nitto's website and i compared them to the INVO's and the invo's look way better for washingtons wet weather but i was gonna as how is the tread wear measured? the nt555's treadwear is 400 and the invo is 260 what does that mean?

The invo's are a little more expensive but a quieter, and handle better in the wet, has anyone used the invo before?

The treadwear number is a percentage. The government had a tire that lasted a certain time on their wear machine. They called that 100. The nitto lasts 4x longer on the machine, while the invo lasts 2.6x longer.

well i noticed that on the poll kumho and falken had more votes so i did more research and i guess they arent verry good, compared to the nitto ones i just dont know if i should get the NT555 or the Invo

it's all about personal opinion and use of tires to me i've used kumho tires have never had any problems but thats me i know theres a few other members from another post that have had problems

Based soley on the limited and often hard to compare information of the tire ratings, the Invo will be a better performing tire, but won't last nearly as long. a 260 treadwear isn't that bad for a performance tire, but the trade off with sticky tires, is tread life.

And comparing brands is really hard. What you have to do is try to compare very specific model's of each tire. You didn't even specify which particular model of the Falken's you were looking at. Without that peice of information it makes it very hard to make any sort of informed choice.

Not to jump on you, just saying, there are several models of Ziex tires, that rate from M+S rated tires, to an OK all-season performance tire. But, none of them are Falkens compition for the Nitto, especialy the Invo, the Invo would compete with tires like the FK-452 that I have, or probably even closer to the RT-615. Since the RT-615 has a 200 treadwear, and the Invo has a 260. The RT-615 is a crazy sticky tire. Lots of guys run it as a auto-x tire because it is so sticky. If you are going to compare tires, you really have to compare apples to apples.

My buddy just put the INVO on his GTO. Amazingly far ahead of the stocker; but that's to be expected. It looks like a nice tire, and they're non-directional!

well i think i might go with the invo, cause its very wet in washington and i think i would rather have the really sticky ones than the summer nt555's, but they are more expensive.

Back on topic: I know I've made a few disparaging comments about Kumho wet traction on here before, however after putting nearly an entire season (including a lot of unexpected snow driving Razz

) I have a much better opinion of them.

They hook up very well dry, can be pushed hard through corners, and are surprisingly usable in snow and on ice. $71 on Tirerack if you're getting rims, or $89 at Discount if you're staying stock.

about how long have they lasted?? i read some reviews saying they wear really fast also people are talking about weak sidewalls...you guys have any problems with that?

the SPT is only 8 dollars more per tire and according to the reviews is better than the ast's but there are still some reviews that make me hesitate on buying them
