I just purchased a long block 350 for my '86 T/A. I believe that '86 was the first year for the 1 piece rear main seal. This block is older and has a 2 piece rear main seal. Do I need an adapter to run my '86 700R4? I think I had heard that before... _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

| Tranny is the same, but you may need a differant flex plate depending if your 86 was 1 piece or 2 piece. |

'86 was hit and miss. '87 was standard as 1 piece rear.
You'll have to look. Flexplates are different because of the different crank. Just get the proper tooth flexplate for the old style (2 piece) and you're good to go. Everything else bolts up perfect. |
