Well I'm getting a free sway bar from someone who's parting out a formula that he says has an IROC sway bar on it. Looks beefier than mine at first glance but I take his word with a grain of salt. what's the diameter on one of these, 36mm? If so I'll hopefully have it installed sometime next week. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

Are both of them hollow John?
I just checked the bar out of Barts Trans Am against the one out of my IROC and found the TA one to be 30 mm while the IROC one was 34 mm
The 30mm bar weighed 19lbs/12 oz while the 34mm was 14lb/ 6 oz. |

My 34mm is hollow, I've heard solid ones were also available. I think the 36mm bars are all hollow. _________________ 92 Camaro

my 36mm bar is hollow, it has a little hole close to where the end link mounts, i think thats how you tell the difference between hollow and solid but not 100% _________________ 1991 Firebird L03 T-5 |

I do realize that if it were stock that it would be a WS6 sway bar but he told me that it was an IROC-Z sway bar that was swapped on there from an IROC. But this is coming from Cody so i doubt him until I have proof. Now if only I could find that caliper... _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

| I know some irocs came with a 36mm sway bar. I got my 36mm sway bar from a 89 iroc. I think that was the only year that came with a 36mm though. |

Well I got the new sway bar all mounted up. I can't even begin to tell you how much of a difference it made. It cut down body roll substantially and virtually eliminated any understeer I had before. I seriously didn't think I would be able to tell the difference. BTW, we measured it and it was in fact a 36mm sway bar and my old one was a 32mm. The bar seemed pretty solid and as far as I could tell it was not hollow. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

| The larger front bar would make understeer worse. |
