Well, this is about the 6th time we have had to jack up the car and try and tighten these three bolts on each header collector, its a big pain.
How do you guys keep them tight? special bolts???
Iam running the shorty headers with the socket type connection.
Tried lock washer, nada
Tried loctite nada.
How about those Crush type nuts??
So how do you keep these tight???'
thanks

| I used two nuts on each bolt. Tighten one up where you want it then run the second nut up to the first. Then two wrenches and turn the top nut back a little while tightening the bottom. Kinda tighten the two into each other. |

Hmm.... I guess there is an upside to having headers with really crappy paint on them, since the rust seems to always keep my bolts well in place. |

the two nuts thing seems to work prety well, i use two nuts for alot of things. in all seriousness i think that should work. think about the brake adjustment on most cars, two nuts. _________________ 86' firebird (Junked in 2015). 88' GTA (sold in 2020).

| I use stainless steel bolts and lock washers and never have to re-tighten. |

The problem i had with the bolts on the collectors i was using grade 5 nuts and bolts grade 5 can't take the high exhaust temperature( they expand and contract too much to make the hold) my options were to use grade 8's or aircraft grade bolts they can definitly handle the temp. so i opted for the grade 8's(nuts bolts and lock washers) and never had a problem since. p.s. don't use lock tight they'll burn off and you'll have to retorque them again. _________________
