Assuming I don't sell my '84 Berlinetta, is there any reason that I wouldn't be able to put the bumpers and ground effects from the 86 Z28 on it? the Berlinetta's body is flawless, it's a t-top car, and the door hinges aren't sagging at all like the Z28's are.

What all would I absolutely have to change to make it work? I read that there are clips or hangers that can be welded to hold up the side skirts. The older and grid tail ligts are interchangeable aren't they?

It all swaps. The only problem is the Berli fenders, nose, and body don't have the holes to put the newer gfx on. So you will have to swap those to update and put holes the body.

Need to swap nose, front lip and rear bumper. Need to drill front fenders and body in multiple places (positioning the holes can be hard).

Here's a totally biased question: Aren't the base model non-gfx cars just so much damn cooler? Very Happy

I understand, I'm partial to the non-gfx style too. My Berlinetta has been my driver for 3 years. Very Happy but the Z is new to me, and is also my first non base model, and it's growing on me. Wink

I was really just thinking it might benefit me to make a frankenstein out of the 2 based on each of their shortcomings.

If you want to do the swap I won't dump on it. John (RSFreak) is doing the same thing to his Berlinetta currently.

I guess its just a morbid curiosity. More than likely I think I'm just going to end up repairing the Z28. I've got 2 different people coming to look at the Berlinetta tomorrow, I guess I'd better clean the snow off of it. lol

Door hinges are going to be next on my list of repairs after I get back from Poulsbo to pick up a nose from Leejo2005 today. Very Happy

I've got all the gfx pieces to put on my Berli, just haven't done it yet. You will need the '85-'92 nose from a gfx car with which ever chin spoiler you want and the rear fascia from an '85-'90 or '91-'92 with the matching rear side pieces. And of course the side skirts with matching door trim piece. Also you can't be shy about putting holes in your fender! Cool

Alright, I sold the Berlinetta so now I'm trying to finish up collecting parts for my Z. I still need a passenger side fender. Is there ANY difference at all in fenders on GFX cars between 82-92? Trying to open up this search a little in hopes of finding one. I'm not stripping it apart to put the NICE nose I bought from Leejo2005 until I've got a fender, so I don't have to do it again. Very Happy

I bet there are a few at the yard here in Poulsbo. Probably a bit of a drive though, and you'd have to pull them from the car too. They seem to usually have a handful of third gens a lot of mid/late-80's recently.
