i found like half of a coin collection in my room, i think my dad gave it to me a few years back, but anyway it was worth maybe $50, but in silver it was worth $488 so the coin place gave me $488 cash...talk bout a good day! _________________

Wow! That's a fun find.
In my 401K I have been invested in silver and other precious metals for 4 years now. Let's just say that it has been good to me. |

| The same year of steel pennys and few years after was the silver nickles. The mint mark was above the monticello. |

| I used to have a couple old silver (or whatever they were before now?) quarters hanging around and I really loved the way they resonate when you flick them in the air with your thumb vs the newer regular quarters. There is a definite difference in sound. |

1944 and 1945 were the silver nickel years. I have a 1944. mine must be a San Fransisco mint, there's a big "S" stamped above monticello _________________

| Lol, I have been trading green money for promises the last 6 years. My 401K has been downgraded to a .401l. Pays off to invest in real metal nowadays. |
