So i found a set of Vortec heads pretty cheap with low miles.
1.94/1.5, 64cc chamber, 170cc intake port
$175 for both

I'm not sure what these heads go for normally and what they are rated to do to a stock 350 without after market heads. any thoughts?

Do you have the casting #'s? They could be the Vortec 305 heads.

Also the guy's phone number....because I think I'd like to buy em before you do Wink

$175 is pretty good for a pair, even if they have to go to the machine shop.

How they'll perform, is based on a lot of factors, your CR, cam profile, RPM operating range, Pistons, Timing, etc.....

Assuming they're 64cc you might be looking about an extra 30-40hp or so.

thanks for the input chris, I decided against them and they went to another person in line behind me.

I need to sit down and fully plan out what i want out of my car before I go off spending money on heads and stuff. Besides, there are plenty of other things this car NEEDS before I go buying something i want. like a new rear-end, the wiring mess, and SFC's

Do you know what kind of pistons you have? You may want to figure out your bore/stroke and piston volume so you can figure out what kind of compression you'll get with x heads.

You know jake, I'm not that far away and I'm good with wiring. i would't mind helping a hand one of these weekends to clean up your wiring.

Why? Confused

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter, any Gen I small block can use vortec heads.

No guideplates for pushrods, so you either need a roller block, or you need to have a machine shop do the work on the stud bosses to attach guideplates.
