I just bought a whole drivetrain dropout from an unfinished 4th gen project. Everything is brand new.
- HKE LSx 398 stroker turbo motor
- twin turbo system
- built T56 with Viper output shaft
- Moser 12 bolt (4th gen)
- driveshaft with 1350 joints
- complete Nasty fuel system
- HP Tuner with laptop
- 4th gen tubular K-member
- Other 4th gen suspension bits and pieces
So.... this is interesting. I have equal amount of money tied up in the Camaro as I do in this package and I have to sell something.
Option 1: Part out the whole turbo engine package and make some money. This is the sensible thing to do.
Option 2: Sell everything except the Viper T56. Basically I get the Viper T56 for free and continue with the Camaro tear down. The downside of this is I still have to try to recoup money by selling the Camaro roller chassis. I really don't look forward to that and I think the maximum I can get from it is $2500.
Option 3: Sell the Camaro and use the turbo motor and Viper T56. Sell the Moser 12 bolt and other 4th gen bits and pieces for about $3000. I can sell the turbo setup, trade for supercharger, or maybe use it (doubt that's possible). I have no Camaro roller to worry about, but I do have to buy more small items to complete the swap.
Option 4: Same as option 3, but use my TH400. Probably a better match to a turbo motor. I don't sell the Viper T56 (That puppy is never leaving my hands so I can tell you right now option 1 is never happening.)
Either way, I think I have to satisfy my curiosity by lowering the turbo engine into my Firebird to see if it will fit. It would be a shame to never even try. |

Put it in your Bird and sell your Camaro. Or put it in your Camaro and sell your Bird. Either way problem solved. |

I'm in Illinois. I don't think you want to pay freight on it. |

Ya, I'm leaning that way. Yesterday, I polished the Camaro as good I could. It's not exactly a show car but looks okay. I tried to clean the headlight lenses but they need another round of wet sanding. I pulled useless wiring from a big stereo system that used to be installed. Only 2 of 6 speakers work in the car and I don't know why yet. I've been working on the leather seats for 2 weeks and they are starting to look pretty good (Meguiers makes some good stuff!). And I've been pulling stains out of the carpet. I think it's about ready to sell.
