Until the start of the Dyno gathering!!!

How is everyones progress going?

Update: I talked with Craig Moates. He shipped the new computer for my car on Monday. Hopefully that will solve my problems... If that does not, next week will be a busy one, trying to find the problems with the camaro.

bah! time moving too fast Confused

I still need to clean up the wiring for the n2o system (shut up). I got my new braided lines but the tees are backordered and won't be here until 4/19 so it looks like I will be running the hard lines at the dyno.

Also had to order a few more pieces for the intake tract last night - not sure if they will make it here in time or not. If they don't this may be an N/A dyno run only which would be very disapointing. How will I make more than 150rwhp without my Nawwwwwwzzzz?

Need to beg some tuning time from Paully in the next few days. The exhaust really changed things. Will see if it was for the better in, hmmm, 9 days I guess.

Would also like to get the paint cleaned up a bit - but that is what frilly decorating boys do best. We'll see if I get motivated or not.

Is your bottle full John?

Nope. not full.

Will probably go have some fun, and empty it. Then fill before dyno. Wink

maybe the two of us need to get together and do a tuning/nitrous testing session.

That sounds good. I would actually like to have you ride along and watch the AFR to see where I am at with the wideband. I would be happy to return the favor Very Happy

Did you use the wideband to see what your AFR was when you and Paully were playing around?

Looks like I will end up with the nozzles several inches in front of the throttle body so I am going to jet back down to 110hp for the first few runs.

We didn't use the wideband and the N2O at the same time, we just nailed down the N/A tune.

I'm sure we can work a time out... if you get steve-o to make grilled cheese, we have a deal. Wink Cool

WAIT FOR ME HOSERS~!

Mike know's my schedule. Saturday is out because I am going to see an old friend of the family play some guitar at the buffalo exchange.

Update for me: Ordered some gauges and some plug wires. Going to make some custom looms, hopefully they don't melt. I've got 3 wires that are extra crispy from those damn air tubes. Good thing they are gone! Going to go tune on the dyno for an hour tomorrow, so maybe I'll see more than the 285 of last time. Have a chance to see what my engine likes AFR and Timing wise and maybe do a little cruise/PT tuning if I have time.

Gotta put my torque converter back in, the put the transmission back up, put the driveshaft and torque arm back on.

Gotta put the distributor back in (getting engine at #1 TDC, and all that fun stuff), putting a new edel manifold on there, and then I have to hope to god that the guy who has my headers will ship them soon (he tried using duct tape on the box and FedEx said "no way" ... 4 times now Laughing Evil or Very Mad ).... then Summit should have recieved my hooker exhaust back today, hoping that they are able to ship it back to me in time... without dents in the new one

after all of that is said and done, I need to fill all the fluids, buy some new sensors (broke a few lol), and then turn the key and hope she fires up!

9 days... ugh and I have a dentist appointment at 8AM that day too, I'll have to mad rush to the dyno, good thing I live in Tigard, and my dentist is 5 minutes from me lol... I'm sure it'll be OK if I arrive a little bit late.

Oh, and I need to go buy a bunch of rods and hangars, and do the mods to the Q-jet to make it a 780CFM carb still too...

And to think that I'll only have 2 days off to do this in from now to then...

looks like it's time to get to work!!! I really hope I can get it done in time, I would love to meet more of you guys Smile

Got the tracking info from UPS, they say the computer won't be here until April 13th.

Dang Dewey. Atleast you can make it easier on yourself by taking the old ECM out and so when the new one comes all you have to do is stab it in and give 'er a rip Smile

We also like to drill and tap heads for screw in studs, with the head on the car, in 100*+ weather. While trying to get to a gathering the same afternoon.

Good, good... come on over then :p.

I cut out the exhaust today, so that's done. I cant get the transmission up myself though, I swear, the torque converter is as heavy as the transmission lol.

And if you guys know how to do screw in studs (accurately) you've gotta fill me in, cuz I got quoted 150 for my 416 heads... youch lol.

Dewey, I forgot that you were rebuilding the Audi lol. Limp home mode must be pretty balless, eh? lol

I just have to change the heater core out and help my dad build a trailer Saturday so I can drag this thing up there. Don't have to build from scratch, just stretch it out 4 feet and add another axle. Should be an afternoon project.

I put the converter on the transmission first, that way I know it's on secure and properly, that the dogs are engaged. Then I put the whole trans assembly on a jack. You can rent a tranny jack insert that goes in your jack to do it, but I manage on some 2x6x6 wood. Then jack the whole thing up there, pop it on the dowls and bolt her on. Just don't forget to bolt the flexplate to the converter.

Fedx dude showed up with my last needed coupler for the intake. Got it all fabbed up just need a couple more clamps and tap for the nozzles. I am a little concerned about hood clearance with the nozzles further toward the front of the car. I may have to break out the play-doh... I think I have some around here somewhere.

Still a ways to go... Wiggly wiggly
