If the output of your unit is 0-5V and the ECM is looking for 0-1V then it will not work, as the number five is not the number one. |

Well that's stupid, ill just wait till I get my other parts and get all 3 things welded at once _________________

Instructions are simple and very informative.
Says the white wire used for ecms that accept a 0-5v signal.
Stock ECM doesn't.
Weld a bung and go. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

im gonna have my SFC's and bung and cracked frame welded all at once.
so last night i read EVERY word on the instructions, and came across this
http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u11/tomcatpilot15/SDC11436.jpg?t=1302565126
just thought i would bring it up cause i noticed it said 0-1v in there, but it was talking about calibration so its probably not relavent _________________

I pulled the PDF up from their website. It sounds like you should be alright, if you set the white-wire to the ECM o2 input, as long as the gauge/controler has the switch set to (P4).
I would try to verify that it will not send more than 1v to the ECM though, if you do, you will be shopping for a new computer. Maybe e-mail AEM to verify that (P4) does actually output a non-linear 0-1v signal to the white wire. There is not easy way to test the output first, since free-air will drop the voltage close to 0v, and it is the lack of o2 that raises the voltage closer to the high voltage side of the output.
That said, the output for the 0-5v WB output, should be above 1v when in free-air, so if you ever see more than 1v in any of those switch positions, you know for sure NOT to use that switch point at all, if you hook the output up to the ECM.
I think your best bet here, is an e-mail or phone call to AEM. I **think** (P4) will work, but I can't say for sure, and being wrong could be an expensive oops.

You could bench test it using a lighter to simulate exhaust flow _________________ 2010 Cobalt LT

Paul, he means unlit butane to simulate the lack of oxygen. _________________

That was actually written on the instructions that came with my Bosch LSU 4.2 sensor
*edit add*
Although the instructions seem a bit sketchy to me. _________________ 2010 Cobalt LT

called AEM they said that it (P4) DOES output a non linear 0-1v signal, although the guy said that he doesnt recommend using it to replace the narrow band because the 0-1v calibration in the ecm is different among different makes and models
so should i use it instead of the narrowband or use both? _________________

If ya wanna be safe run both. If it was me, I would run both.
It's up to you though, sounds like it could work either way. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56
