So Charlie (Vega Guy) brought this over on Saturday! I'm eternally grateful, espescially if it'll fire up the first time I turn the key ( Laughing )

Here's a little photo collage for your viewing pleasures Smile

The empty engine bay

The engine w/ about 70k miles on it!

The old flexplate was 168 tooth, which as I've heard, wont fit in our bellhousings. The new 153 tooth one is right by it.

The new flexplate on. I hadnt put the old starter back on it at this point, but rest assured, I did put it on Smile

and here they are to prove it Very Happy

Here's the engine sitting in the car. I dont have the tranny positioned right yet (having a HECK of a time putting the servo cover in all the way to put that last snap ring in!!!!)

I put the pulley on before I put the motor in the car, but forgot to take a picture, so there's the old one from my LG4.

Here's the old intake manifold. It was setup for a non-emmissions / non computer controlled carb setup. Apparently they were used in the 350 Chevelles -shrugs-

And here's the new intake on, with all the accessories, and the carb is bolted in. I have a ton of vacuum lines to hook up again, and sensors laying astrew. Not to mention I'm trying to hook up the emissions systems again which are all basically attached how I took them off, but still a pain, and clutter things up!

So... I'm sure that this page took quite a while to load, I'm sorry lol.

ugh, and as I was looking at the pictures I noticed that I put the flexplate on backwards -sigh- I guess I'll fix that before the tranny gets bolted in! lol.

So update:

Got my hooker cat-back in, found a nice 1/4inch deep dent in one of the tubes, which sorta defeats the purpose, so I gotta send that back...

Ended up just taking the tranny out to try and put the servo cover in, and the torque converter ended up falling out sometime, so I took that as a sign to get a new 2200 stall one lol.

I have a new edl-2101 intake that I'm getting for 20 dollars more from the guy I'm getting 1 3/4" SLP headers/y-pipe from.

Also got my 3 inch Catco High Flow Cat, it's a universal so I got it cheeeap on eBay lol.

I am basically just waiting for my headers and new intake to come in before I stab the dizzy in there, and give her a start-up. Then I'll have to rush to try and get the tranny situated for dyno day.

Well, my hooker cat-back is on it's way back as of yesterday. Today I had a co-worker come over, and we put the transmission back in, and then put the driveshaft in too.

I need to attach the torque converter to the flexplate still, stab the dizzy in, a couple electrical connections, and then just wait for those freaking headers to get here and I should roll... too bad the headers wont get here in time for the dyno.

But all looks well. This is my update as of 4/13/05
