ok so yesterday i was driving to my friends and the SES light was coming on and off and on and off at random intervals, and it would make the car buck, felt as if it was downshifting then the brakes got slammed over and over, eventually i got home pulled the codes and it was code 51 prom error, re burned the chip and it ran fine all day today until my way home from work tonight i remote started my car from inside work and when i came out i have to go through passenger side to unlock the driver side cause my lock is broken, and i noticed that when i shut the passenger door it made the car die, i restarted it and tried closing the door again and indeed it killed the car again. and it bucked halfway home again with code 51, it even died once on the way home then the last half of my drive home it was fine,

im assuming something is loose and when the car is rumbling or the door gets shut it shakes the car causing a bad connection somewhere, but idk where, any ideas?

thanks in advance

IIRC you do have a ground around the ecm.

You have 2 grounds on on the back side of the engine. Plus the ground to the battery.

I'm thinking their is another ground, but I'm not coming up with the location of it.

ECM grounds to the engine block. Door slam ain't gonna effect that.

Your chip may be working loose. Do you have a good locking ZIF socket? Can you pull the chip out without opening the socket?

i do have a zif adapter and a hypertech one, im using the hypertech one right now where you just push the chip into the socket instead of the ZIF lock. i made sure the prom and chip were in tight and i started wiggling the ecm plugs and the clear one that has 2 parts thats near the ecm made it go screwy so i messed with that made sure everything was tight, put in a new chip just cuz, and i reset the ecm now the codes fine and it runs good...for now we'll see what happens when i drive it today
