I did this last sunday morning. And i was clad i used my 12v screw gun too many screws.

I think you can get away with that on the birds, and the later camaro's like mine, but the early camaro dashes, I think you have to rip it all out.

this is my 2nd heater core replacement and the first time with my t/a took me a day and night with hand drivers. the iroc took me 3 hours with a lil screw gun. Don't want hand cramps.

I see somebody followed the service manual. Laughing And yes, it can be done without doing all that.. though its hard not to break something doing it.

i had too with this camaro. the dash sits in further in than my t/a also had to fix one of my ducts, and also found a original dealer key chain tag which was cool.

I did it on my '87 in about 30-45 minutes going under the dash.

I then did it on my '84 going under the dash and it took about 3 hours, however I left a single b**ch of a bolt out when i re-assembled and it is do-able in about 20 minutes now. Very Happy

that bolt on top??? that needs to be on there it holds the rod that changes air direction.

That one is still there, it was one of the top bolts holding the front half of the case to the firewall. Everything else was easy to get to.

Thank god I have a bird, I got mine changed under the dash in only a few mins. Wouldn't want to have to do all that lol
