ok so i went to start my car this morning and it didnt start, so i checked to see if the timing got moved and while i was moving my distributor with car off, the fuel pump would prime, and can hear the injectors click or whatever that noise is and i could move it back and forth and it would keep priming, so im guessing a wire by the distributor is broken, any ideas of which wire?

sounds like a continuation of the same problem you've been having.
Last time you said you said the ICM was fried, is that the case here too.

ICM has nothing to do with the fuel prime.

You also have a pickup coil inside the dizzy. Have you checked/replaced it?

Only thing fuel related would be the lower oil pressure 2 wire sensor above the filter. If the pump is priming on and off.... I'd be looking to see if the ECM is having a power cutout also.

Can you 100% verify that things change by moving the distributor wires?

ECM will engage the fuel pump relay whenever it recieves an ignition signal. This happens whenever you turn the key on(happens just once), or when the rotor turns inside the distributor.

pickup coil is new, im replacing the oil sending unit tomorrow, but if i wiggle the distributors wires nothing happens its only when i turn the dizzy that it primes

ok so i took he cap off and unplugged the 4 pin connector and then it wont do it and when i plug it back in it will prime, if i uplug the 2 pin plug it wont prime but it will click, there is no other wires movin when i move th distributor, idk whats goin on with it

When you turn the dizzy you're triggering the ignition.. which triggers the ecm to prime the fuel pump.

This sounds like your pickup and module are both working fine. If you hear hte injectors click, then the ecm and injectors are working as well.

Do you have fuel pressure? Will it start if you spray carb cleaner or starting fluid in the throttlebody?

so if it is the ICM again.... there must be something causeing it to fail very often

ICM wont go out that fast 99% of the time.

Power to the coil? I'd be suspect of the negative lead on the coil as your tach was having problems too.

YES IF YOU TURN THE ROTOR IT WILL TRIGGER THE ECM TO THINK THE ENGINE IS RUNNING: aka turns the injectors on and has the fuel pump run.

If you read what brandon said, that part is working fine!

Maybe just a bad coil. If you have a test light hook it to ground and the negative side of the coil. It should flash when you crank the engine. If it does and you have no spark.. then you have a bad coil.

Coil has a positive and negative.. no ground. Positive is the large pink wire. Connect to the other one.. i think its white. sometimes there's a connector just a short way down the harness you can connect to. Ground is just anywhere on the motor.

From what you describe I'm pretty sure its the coil. .. Did you change the coil wire? If not it could be burned out as well. Anyway, do the test to make sure.

There's always a time when things quit. And never think because its new its good. Sometimes new stuff aint even good right out of the box.
