so today i was driving and my tach started acting up, it did this before but only after 3k rpms, now it does this no mater what

here is a video of what it is doing

any ideas on how to fix?

i do have resistors wired to the chip to do the tach fix, but when i was data logging the tach read 250 rpms low. i also have a spare tach to swap if thats what i need to do.

it was fine till i hit 80mph down a hill...

did some research on TGO, and im using a V6 tach chip on a v8 car, with v8 amount of resistance, and so the chip is supposed to v8 one (4 pulses per revolution.)

looks like i need to get a v8 tach chip, or just a v8 cluster

im not sure about the datalogging part but mine started doing something similar after i messed with the cluster, i replaced the normal bulbs with LEDs/resistors i soldered together and stuck back in, but my tach was doing the awesome dance after i hit a bump, it did it constantly and was off by a few hundred rpms, idling it would bounce to the music that was playing lol Turns out the cluster wasnt seated against the connector properly, do you think you could have bumped it loose? i just pulled my cluster and put it right back in and now everything works perfectly fine

was it working alright before?
