So i got to test my Tires, posi/gear swap at an autocross at tri cities raceway in Pasco Wa. My car ran awesome! I beat every other musclecars time out there that day by over a second! there were 2 08 bullitt mustangs, and a couple 05-07 gt mustangs, an 03 mach 1 mustang, an 98 SS camaro (auto) My new tires, posi, and gears make my car super fast on course! i had to use third gear for a lot of the course cuz i was maxing out in second. after getting beaten badly by mustangs out at the drag strip, it felt good to be ahead of them autocrossing. heres some pics.

I thought the raceway was between West Richland and Benton City?
I grew up in Richland. Just curious if there is another track in Pasco. |

the track is in west pasco, its called Tri-cities raceway, its a 1/4mile oval. It is pretty much shut down, and the only racing that goes on there now is an autocross once a month. the Sand and Sage Sports car club (SSSCC) made a deal with the people who bought the track, so that in the time before they tear it down (1-2yrs) they can run on the track as long as they maintain the landsacaping. Its really fun, the track is banked and theres an infield that is smooth newer asphalt. _________________ 1991 Firebird L03 T-5 |

QwkTrip, I picked up a 10 bolt from your parents in richland(ithink?) a few years back, that you were giving away. and the funny thing is I swapped the 3.42 gears out of that rear end into my car, and that along with a posi, was what i was testin in these pics lol. Thx again man. _________________ 1991 Firebird L03 T-5 |

Are you still running the Hankooks? I assume by your post that you're fairly pleased with them? |

| Tires can make a huge difference. I had a '94 Vette with street tires. A nice gentlemen from Hermiston also had a Vette and swapped tires with me so I could experience some slicks on 17x11 wheels. Not only did the car hold better but the tires were much more predictable at the edge of control and I was able to drive much better. The whole nature of the car changed so that it was much easier to drive. I had the 2nd fastest time of the day behind the guy who loaned me the tires. And that was only the 2nd time I had been at an autocross my entire life. Yes.... tires make a huge difference. |

Yep the hankook RS2 245 45 16 is a great tire. It sucks they dont make them anymore, and there is no RS3 replacment in that size. i might have to get some 17's when these tires wear out, because you cant get sticky ultra performance street tires in a 245 width and 16" wheel the only option i have to keep my 16" trans am wheels is to get some 265 45 16" Kumho XS tires. they have tested #1 in grassroots motorsports tire comparisons. pretty spendy though. _________________ 1991 Firebird L03 T-5 |

I didn't know they were already doing that, i went down there once for a little bit just to see what car's were there.
I live litterally 2 min's from there, id be shocked if you didn't drive in front of my house to get there. |

Had??? Thought you still have perma grin from that I know mike still remembers how he got sick to his stomach riding with me for only one run with good tires on
You should try the track day at PIR with race tires on. Now that will definitely give you a grin you will never wipe off your face. I can't wait to get the new motor in and give it a try with the big brakes. I ran out of brakes the 3rd lap last time. Now I should never run out of them. Will be a lot more fun with more power and brakes that actually work _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.
