Just ordered a set of dual duty auxiliary lights for the 92. I figured I'd do away with the two pair I have on now and accomplish the same thing with only one pair. Wiring should be easy as it's already in place
I figure these would look nicer and not take up all the room the present ones do. These come in at just under 6" wide as the side-by-side pairs I have take 8" or more.
If I like these enough, there will be a pair for the 89 also _________________ 92 Camaro

| Sometimes I wish the formula had someplace for a set of driving lights. I've tried them before because of how bad the headlights were.. but always ended up breaking them. Now with the good headlights you can buy I dont find a need for them. That looks like a pretty nice set Al. Let us know how well they work. |

I'm anxious to see how those look not only mounted, but in both driving and fog light mode. Are they both white or are the fogs yellow? _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

| They should be here sometime tomorrow (gotta love Summit shipping). I'll try to have them installed over the long weekend. From the looks, both lights shine white, only difference is the fogs are wide angle and drivers are narrow beam. I might find some different "temperature" H3 lights and make the fogs shine yellow like they're supposed to be. |

| They came today. Well constructed die-cast metal housings and a bit heavy, made by Hella. There's a cover plate on the back that needs to come off to replace light bulbs, and it's a tight fit inside. I'll try to get pics later. Both lights do shine white as I touched the leads of one to the battery posts in the car. |

I've been looking at Hella and Pilot housings for the Mazda/Jeep.
Hella's are like $42 each while Pilot is like $25 for the pair. I didn't realize Pilot has become so cheap? _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I paid $70 and change for the pair of these, including shipping.
Looking at these, the only difference is the reflectors for light dispersion. I intend to change the lights out later to 5500K or so white (without the blue glow) for the driving lights and 3000K yellow for the fog lights.
There's a tricky gasket on the back to keep moisture out and sort of easy access to the bulbs for replacement

Installed. A little more of a challenge than I anticipated, but it looks like they'll work out just fine. I thought I might use stock fog light brackets, so I tried to locate some. I found one at a junkyard, it was modified slightly for a different set of light and looked like I could use it, unfortunately, the other wasn't around. I ended up with a set of 4th gen brackets for $5 and easily made those work.
I attached the Hella brackets to the 4th gen brackets (they were almost identical widths, then bolted the 4th gen bracket on top of the bumper support
A little more wiring and wire dressing, and I'll be finished. |
