|
|
I was able to save enough before tax time to order some new door panels from Hawks. Now the fabric on the doors is as clean and bright as on the seats that were just done
My new panel resting against the original. No holes cut for handles, arm rests, etc. No top cap, original is used.
Back side of the new panel has perforations for cut-outs needed. I didn't need all of them, window crank hole and center hole for the arm rest were left covered.
And the new panel as it went on the door.
I also have new weather seals to put on, maybe tomorrow _________________ 92 Camaro

What was wrong with the old panel? Looks perfect in the picture. |

Badly warped and there was no way to clean it to match the new material on the seats..
I've got one weather strip in, now I have a problem with closing the door. There is a bind up by the hinge where the new seal is thicker than the old one was. Maybe I'll figure it out when I replace the hinge pins & bushings and detent rollers. |

Looks great man.
The light grey cloth can look like crap in person and still look decent in pictures. I need to do the same thing to my wifes convertible. |

| The problem with the weather seals has lessened this morning. Looks like there is a need to wait for the seals to compress to the body. A few more days and the doors should be much easier to close. The hinges are still a top priority when the weather permits. |
