So as you may know from my other posts, I have the gauge covers off. Since my return trip to bring the car home a year ago, the resetable odometer hasn't worked.
Today I went out to drive the car and the odometer was set to 666.
I don't know why it happened, but until then it has been set to 000.
I'm not a much of a religious or superstitious person but that is pretty disconcerting. Noone has taken responsibility. |

| I had a bmw brought into work last year for brakes. The odometer turned to 666 and the car proceeded to completely fall apart on us while it was in the shop. The car ended up costing the shop about $1500 before it got out of there, and the owners quite a bit more as well. |

Sell it now!
Not uncommon on Chevy trip odometers. The one in my S10 would consistently read 66.6, 77.7, 88.8 and then 00.7 with consecutive presses of the reset button.
Somewhere on TGO there is an article, I think it was by that 'JamesC' guy, about fixing the hooks in them with a little piece of wire. Easy to do. Did the one in my IROC with a couple of strands from an 8ga stranded wire. You should do it while you have everything apart.
Search for 'j hook odometer fix' on TGO. |
