ok this is just an idea so im not saying that i am doing this for sure or anything like that, im just seeing if this would be possible i dont care if it would be cool or dumb or anything.

so i want fog lights on my car but i dont want them to show and i dont want to put a z-28 grill on so my idea is to take 2 firebird headlight motors and somehow mount foglights to them and put them like in front of the radiator or something so when i turn them on they flip down low enough to shine under the gfx. would this be possible cause i really wanna do it?

Flip down under the bumper? say goodbye to any kind of ground clearance you had. Do something similar to these...

ground clearance shouldnt be a huge issue considering they dont need to go down any further than the air dam does, i was thinkin about puttin them behind the grill like the 1st pic but some of the light is still being blocked

what good does a light do if it isn't going to be lower than the air dam? wouldn't it then be behind it or are you talking about in front of the air dam/bumper That would look silly otherwise the GFX would be in front of the light. seems that the light must go in front of the bumper or under it but behind seems pointless. But to answer the question sure it can be done, mount the motors and the lights to a custom mounting bracket and let them suckers flip like crazy.

Eh I'm no doubt missing something

im talking about having them in front of the air dam, on a bracket so when u turn them on they flip down

Have you seen the grille that a guy on TGO made? Bluzee28

Could you mount fog lights behind there?

Bah. Just get rid of your foglights. The stockers don't do much anyway.

Sell them to Rodney before he gets snowed in so he can put them on his plow.

Very Happy

Or if you are going to fab away, use some small H1 lights in the factory turn-signal location, and then figure out a way to get turn-signals.

I would be willing to be the H1 housings from a 350Z, or the projector fog lights from a Mini would fit in behind clear plastic in the factory turn-signal location.

Shoot, that was my idea from a long time ago, I'm just too lazy to do it. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything.

well a few weeks ago it was super foggy and i had to go like 5mph cause i couldnt see at all, so i was thinkin about yellow fog lights so i can see better in the fog, i dont really need anymore light just for regular driving, my new headlights are bright enough as is! haha. and having them flip down would be a cool feature, not really necessary tho

Do that and then do city lights as a turn signal? That sounds sweet to me.

All the fog lights will allow you to do is go 7 mph instead of 5 mph. Fog lights are a joke on most vehicles. You need to turn off your headlights, which factory cars can't. And you need to sit high above the lights so you don't get reflection back in your face. You know how 18 wheelers seem to run at suicidal speeds through fog? They are not suicidal.... they just see a lot better then you.

i have an idea...get the clear parking lights with the led yellow bulbs...and drill a hole in the back...and add a 2nd highend led bulb that is clear for fogs lights...and put them on a relay switch...so you can flip between parking lights and fog light...no one would ever know you had another light in there unless they bent down and looked very close

I just follow the white line, where ever it goes I go at a high rate of speed.

That and I'm alot bigger than the blind 4 wheelers. Laughing
