This kid is 13 and lives in Tigard. For 13 he's a pretty sharp kid. I invited him to join our little piece of heaven here. Hope it's ok with all of you. I think we could help him a lot, and lets face it he has to be a good kid owning a maro and not a honda

The first post reads like a chatter box that won't stop talking. He can be our own chatter box now. |

Heck, when I was 13 most sentences included the word "fart" or I added a real one for good effect.

Heh. When I was 13 I owned a beater-ass 1974 Dodge Dart. Has a 318/724. My Dad had maybe three other Mopars and an old Chevy Impala around that time.
Funny, you think after all this time working on old junk I would have learned my lesson... Or at least gotten good at it. |

Guys realize he is 13, Some of your comments might not be taken very well by him. I sent him a pm because he seems very bright and I think we could help him. When he gets to know us a little then we can raz him, but I'd like not to scare him away first thing. _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

13 is about the time I started reading TGO dreaming of the day I got to drive my Mom's old 87 Formula. Maaaan it was soooo cool!
That rolling thunder dude needs to learn what a paragraph is. As soon as he started posting, I stopped ready. ADD going crazy. _________________

Hey, any 13 year old who wants to learn and is interested in older muscle, is more than welcome in my mind.
Sure his post on TGO isn't as refined as some 30 year olds are, but I give him a lot of credit for being able to convey his point.
I see he has already registered, so I'll be the first to say it.
Welcome! Post up, ask your questions, and we will all do our best to help you get some real answers, and get started on learning and modifying on your car.

Are you serious??? Dang! I didn't even know what a car was until I was 18 years old. The only reason I was able to buy my Firebird is because I had been working for nearly 3 years and never spent any of my money. |

I didn't have my license until 2 days before I hit 20.
And I had to check my license to remember how to spell license |

| Bought my first car, a 68 impala fastback, when i was 15. Got my 2nd just after I got my license, a 68 chevelle SS396. The 396 kept breaking so I took the 327 out of my impala and put it in the velle. Then i'd fix the 396 and try it again.. and it would break.. and the 327 would go back in LOL. That 327 ran for awhile in my 70 pickup too.. and it now currently resides in my 87 formula. So its been around. |

| Now that engine has some heritage! I bet you never sell that engine with any car. When it's finally done you'll bury it in the back yard. |

I built my first engine at 14. Was a 409 out of my dad's dump truck. Ran great. I saw the truck about 10 years ago and it's still running strong. _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

Funny thing, dad bought the impala originally for the 327. He was going to replace a worn out 409 that was in his 63 dumptruck. Well the impala ran and drove too nice, we ended up using it as our family car. Then when my older brother got his license it was his car. A couple years later we were at the swap meet and dad picked up a 63 impala and traded my brother for the 68.. then I bought the 68 for a couple hundred. I wish now that I'd kept the whole car, but it was huge and green. |

when I was 13 I had a skate board. Couldn't ride but I had one.
My first car was a Subaru. Not a cool WRX or anything like that, in fact I don't thing it had a model name it was just a 78 subaru station wagon. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

No, they didn't have the WRX in '78. In fact Subarus were not even remotely cool in '78. |

an 88 Toyota Tracel, I bought it from my mom for 600, I paid it off but never had it transferred, I sold it back to her because her "better" broke.
Guess that makes maro my first offical car. |

No they were not cool in 78 but it was cooler than carrying a skate board
After reading that again it looks like I am suggesting that I had the car in 78. Nope it was in 87. Now its even more uncool. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009

| My Camaro was the first car that I really purchased. Before that I had a hand-me-down Datsun wagon. Although, I do kind of miss the old Datsun. |
