OK, so after i replaced my plug wires and cap the car was running good...

but now a week later the hesitating has came back, not only that but it wont even idle in the morning i have to essentially serve as the choke because the rpms wont go above like 300 and it will die.

On the freeway i will be driving and and the rpms will randomly drop and sometimes it feels like i'm just holding the brake but really i'm holding the gas firmly. This is really starting to piss me off and i have no clue as to what to do. any ideas?

Thanks guys

phil.

Is wires/cap all that you have done?

What are the plugs looking like?

Did you replace the rotor as well?

Could be a number of things yet.

sorry nothing constructive to add, but I voted RPG cause I would like to see something blown up in just such a fashion. Actually my old boss comes to mind.

I'm back to the sidelines now.

You've had a pressure gauge on while driving when it hesitates to verify you don't have any fuel cloggage? Arrow

I didn't get all of my wires connected securely to the plugs and developed a random miss. Felt secure when I installed them, but after a bit of driving and the occasional miss, I got home and looked under the hood to see #7 boot almost free of the plug. Might be worth re-checking your connections.

+1 on this.

Throw a vacuum gauge on it too. Never hurts.

If spark is all you tackled so far, you have along way to go before you need to blow it up.

Agree with others, check fuel next. Have you, yourself, changed the fuel filter? Just cause it flows, doesnt mean its enough. Change it, its 10 bux and less then 1hrs work. Next I would put a fuel pressure gauge on it. I know that is a MAJOR pita on a tbi, but that is next. Also visually look at the spray of the injectors. I know of a tbi truck that ran and was sluggish, but one injector was obvisully not spraying as much as the other.

As mentioned in your previous post. Did you check timing, with the est wire disconnected?

After that, we go onto sensors.

haha im thinking the same thing...but on a constructive note...did you say its tpi or carb??? i agree with the other guys get a fuel pressure gauge on there...maybe the pump is going out...or it could be something to do with the ecm telling it to cut fuel...who knows to many things it could be at this point
