so when i went to take out my battery i noticed that i could see the floor of my garage thru my battery plate, so how should i deal with this? i was thinking just cut it out and weld in a new one but does anyone make a replacment plate or do i have to make one?

Don't know if they're available or not until you go through the checkout process. GM Parts Direct has them listed. You'll have to go into the "Classic Vehicle" years on the dropdown menu, select your year & model. Under collision parts, you can find it listed with the fender.

Last I read a few years ago, gm had dx'd the battery trays. But I'm thinking some of the aftermarket companys had picked them up.
The tray in my v6 car had rusted out. The only true way to fix rust is to cut out and replace. The job isnt that bad, just takes many hours.
BTW, I got my tray from travis' old car that got t-bonned. |
