Gettin where I hate to sell anything on ebay. Last time I sold my edlebrock carb, ended up damaged in shipping. Deb didnt get the insurance so I had to refund the money. Got the carb back, barely bent the linkage. No problem to fix. So I resold it. Guys happy with that carb.
Fast forward to today. Sold another edlebrock carb that my fathernlaw bought for his boat, but didnt fit right. Bought it new this last summer, still had the box for it, along with all the extras. Box says 1405, 600cfm manual choke. So thats what I sell. Get an email today. The guy got the carb, no problem there.. But did I know it was a 1407? Was there a mixup? He needs a 1405 cause he's building a dual carb motor. Allready has a couple 1407s.. I'm like WTF? So I dig out my pics. Box definately says 1405. Zoom in on the carb, guess what it IS a 1407! AARGGH!! Looks like edelbrock screwed up somewhere and boxed the carb wrong.
I didnt even think to check to make sure it was right. Only had the 2 edelbrocks and one had electric choke so no mixing them up. Besides they were both 600s.. So now I'm waiting to see what this guy wants me to do about it. Hopefully he'll try to resell the dang thing himself. |
