Scroll down to the ET Bracket sections.

T-Top cars now fall under the convertable rules for roll bar regulations. SO 13.49 or quicker will require a 6 point bar.

Quote:
Rollcage: Add at the end of the section, A rollcage is mandatory on all convertibles running 10.99 or quicker ¼ or 6.99 or quicker 1/8 mile. T-top vehicles follow convertible guidelines.

11.50 to 13.49 section

Rollbar / Rollcage: A minimum of a 6 point roll bar is mandatory all convertibles running 11.00 to 13.49 ¼ mile and 8.25 or quicker 1/8 mile. A roll cage is mandatory on any entry that exceeds 135 mph.

I'm not exactly sure what rule book PIR goes by. But this could get interesting, especialy if NHRA follows suit.

MOST tracks follow NHRA rulings. PIR wouldn't care usually anyways because they run the "street legal" drags.

I would put money on them following NHRA rules. NHRA is ontop of IHRA, so I don't think they will follow.

Actualy in futher discussion of this, on TGO, and via e-mail with the IHRA techs. The new t-top rule only applies for the under 11.49 rules. unless you plan to go that fast, you don't need one.

I was wondering about that when you first posted because my understanding is that they are actually relaxing the rules a bit. I believe that they changed the rules for verts to relax them a little bit as well.
