so ive got a edelbrock 1406 on the top of my engine, came with the car, and being new to carb tuning, im just kinda curious, my car idles like garbage, its terrible, and i smell a crap ton of gas in the exhaust, and adjusting the idle mixture screws by use of the manual has not helped. i was reading on TGO (i know not always a good idea) that edelbrock carbs that dont have a regulator after the fuel pump will run like crap and that edelbrocks like 5.5 psi and nothing more, my question is that since my set up isnt regulated after the Mech fuel pump could this be my problem? anything helps, this is driving me CRAZY!

Get a gauge and run it inline. If it's too high, buy a regulator. Here's a pic of mine for the heck of it: Very Happy

I am running a high-pressure Holley pump, though, so I bought that setup outright.

ya so i think im just going to get the regulator either way and just put the gauge on it.

i really was just curious if that sounded like a possibility which it kinda sounded logical, but i wasnt sure, so im just going to do it just to be safe.

thanks guys
