if you see another one there, snag it for me. I'll be willing to reimburse you for it. That would be a major help!

Buy up as many as you can. Junkyards usually wont charge you more since they don't know how rare it is. I once picked up four of them for $35 apeice.

That's to much, I usually get them for about $15-$20 at u-pullit Very Happy they usually charge me just for blower motor.

Has anyone figured out how to use the AC box motor/fan on a non-AC box?

You need to swap the cage, or do some serious cutting.

AC boxes have a tall cage with a long shaft. Non-AC has a short cage with a short shaft. What you need to find is a short cage with a long shaft (inset for the shaft will be about as tall as the cage). Should be readily available in midsize FWD cars. I snagged mine from an '89 Bonneville. You will also need to fab up a new bypass hose from the box to the motor, since the AC motor is at a different angle.

I've seen the fiberglass ones. Too much work IMHO. I had the cage and the extra hose lying around the shop. Whole thing took maybe ten minutes to do.

Yea, I made a fiberglass one. Quite a pain in the ass too.

I wanted to keep the ac motor for the wiring, bigger cage, etc.

I wanted to make a mold for it and start selling them, but never could get a mold to work right Crying or Very sad

I *think* I just made a small spacer for the blower motor itself to space it away from the non-A/C box. I don't think I changed the cage at all because I didn't have access to any other cages or anything. Reason I say 'think' is because my memory sucks and its been awhile.

I wouldn't pay $50 for one. IIRC they want way too much for most of their parts as-is.

i'd rather pay $50 for one that was in good shape already pulled off than trying to track one down at U-Pull-It and have to pull it off...
