eh, I haven't really been around a whole lot lately, a few random txt's, IM's and posts, but thats really about it...
Today, it snowed... not a whole lot, it stuck to cars and eventually later into this night it started sticking to the ground, but it won't last the night I fear... which is pretty sad, it made me happy to be able to go out and look into the sky and be attacked by fluffy bits of ice. It's only snowed twice down here since I've been here... the first december i was here and now. No one can drive in the snow here since it's such a rarity, the obscene amount of accidents and people bundled up in winters clothing for the one random chill of the year was amazing ...
Monday afternoon, the SS undergoes surgery, finally getting around to replacing those bad valve seals I've had issues with for a few months now... unfortunately, it's likely to be the last thing I end up doing to the SS, as I'm now trying to sell it, I've had my fun, I've loved the car to death, but the payments and absurd insurance is starting to takes it toll on me, and I'd like to be able to have some money freed up every month to do things I want, instead of worrying about what I shouldn't be buying anymore. Not a decision I've made lightly, but one I've made with many thoughts of another LSx powered something in the future... so for now, the less I pay for, the better off I am. Plus its just one less thing to worry about bringing with me should I finally move back home (yeah, I've been saying it for years, I'll likely be saying it again at cows this year, so don't count me out completely)
Despite our crumbling economy, I'm doing well for myself in Houston right now... I'm paying a mere $1.53 for premium gasoline (93 octane, hello!), and the restaurant I work in is one of only 7 stores posting postive numbers in the entire united states, so I feel pretty comfortable with staying with the company, and I know I can transfer to another store up north should the need arise... because honestly, lets face it, not many places offer a good medical/dental/401k (they match 100%, so I'm happy about that haha).
lots of random crap in my head today... I did what people told me not to last time I was up there, and met another girl and have been with her for about 6 months, things are well, her family seems to like me, which I think is a plus because it's pretty hard for me to find people who actually like me but I feel that if things go south, I'll go north, so I'm for now keeping my options open.
I received a PM from a certain somebody, who was interested in some texas beers and things not entirely found outside of the southern states... said somebody was offering a trade out for beer... I figure, why just keep it at one person, when I can possibly get a few people taken care of to try some things... just need some of that reciprocation, since texas BLOWS for getting anything super good
so... random thoughts at midnight... I'll likely wake up sick tomorrow from spending so much time in the snowy weather today, but I don't care, it was worth it. |

Glad you are back around anyway. Big project we have at work. Lots of consultants from Houston.... they were all freaking out about the snow 'back home'.

Well I'm glad to hear that you're still delving deep into your own emotions and able to see concrete improvements as well as close certain chapters in your life while looking forward to others.
RIP Aaron in a dress phase.
Remember the last time you let yourself get away from modding cars? You bought a scion. :puke: While descent cars, it seems to be primarily owned by fanbois around here.
Yay for good jobs and benefits. Boo getting rid of the SS. Yay for a sliver chance of moving back home. Boo relationship entanglements thousands of miles apart.

I've got a practical cure for your LSx blues: Diesel. That's what I did and it's a very practical and fun replacement for the impractical muscle car.
Get a 4WD 3/4 ton truck with a modern common rail engine. You'll have a truck that you can drive every day, use for the occasional haul or loading, and rip up people at stop lights all day long. It doesn't take many mods and the fuel mileage will improve at the same time.
Now if you want to get really cool, get a big car and swap in a Duramax. With very simple and basic mods you will have no problem running 11 sec quarter miles, and posting 30+ mpg. Not a project for the beginner, but when you don't have anything else to drive it is amazing what kind of incentive you have to finish the project! |

If you wait a few more months, there is a small version coming out too (4.5L I believe). Heck--it might actually fit beneath the hood of a f-body.... _________________ Vaneat-91RS

| Dimensionally it's supposed to be interchangeable with the 5.3L V8. But won't be near the hot rod of the bigger engines. I'd also advise you buy 2006 or older. Much more potential since you don't have to work around the particulate filter introduced for 2007, and urea system come 2010. |

Is it legal to ship beer? | keep in mind though Ian, the first car I modified I ended up parting out, my truck and beretta were absorbed by my family somehow when I moved to TX, and the scion I kept for about a year and traded in for 15.5k while only owing about half that but yeah, now Scion's are just fanboy toys
SS is sold, leaving on Friday actually started to look at some sedans, I know a cash car is likely the best way to go for me just so I'm not attached to it and use it for what it is, but we'll see, have about a week to find something, haha. I can just walk to work in the meantime though.
it's legal in some states, to texas, technically I don't think so but I've had it done a few times already |

haha, nothing fancy... been toying with the idea of a G6 or an S40 for now... even if I make payments for a year it'll be paid off vs. the dillydallying I did with my SS...
Sold the SS for more than I thought I was going to, so I have enough to play with for a reasonable downpayment.
Or, I can just buy some pos for cash and beat it up for 6 months and buy stuff I really want...

I think she's not ready for it, not yet...
and I know for a fact that her job pays better down here than up there... there's something to say for working for one of the biggest medical examiners in the country, especially right now, haha...
Hoping to bring her up for a visit though... if all goes well enough...
and if not, then I alone will be making a visit...
for awhile |

I think I'm going to cry when it goes |
