I put my truck on Craigslist a little while ago. Personally I don't see what the big deal is with the site. I think it's a piece of crap. But I digress....
I've gotten multiple scammers trying to get me to respond to their requests. But the icing on the cake is some person made many copies of my ad and put their e-mail on it with a nearly give-away price. They are fishing for personal information in an attempt to steal their identify. Scum bags. |

"...I will like to know..."
Nobody in America talks like that. Oh sure maybe a typo, but my suspicions on the internet are as old as the Nigerian scam. If the sound foreign and are asking me to do odd things with money then I run far and fast.
Funny thing about most of these foreign types of scams is that the people pulling the scams speak such proper english, almost as if all they know is what they learned in a class some place. Way to formal and stuffy. |

I have sold sooo much stuff on craigs list! When a relative passed i moved a ton of yack on CL and had huge success.
However when i put a vehicle on there, i had all sorts of weird crap!
and the point Flea made is completely true! look at the verbage, it's some 3rd world dirt bag trying to scam you, a total 3rd world
pile of monkey SH*T!
Here's the key to CL: Cash Only, No agents, I don't deliver or ship
Prices are firm! Must show a valid drivers license upon the sale!
This will eliminate any 3rd world butt-wipes trying to pull their
B.S. on you!
I can't stand those miserable scamming, worthless
dirt-hut, monkey banging, lying scamming, diese infested,
low-life hunk of Sh%t pricks! .
Have a great day!! _________________

I feel your frustrations, however, craigslist accounts for nearly 90% of our Car lots entire business. I do not allow email contact from any interested parties though, that eliminated A LOT of BS. _________________

| Scammers abound everywhere bro. There's not much anybody can really do about it. I've bought and sold plenty of junk on Craigslist, and never had any problems. As long as you deal over the phone or meet face-to-face, and make sure to inspect everything you buy, you'll be fine. |

CL is where i bought my car from. The one I really wanted was also on CL only reason I didn't buy it was because it was up in marysville, 3 hrs away one way. 6 hrs round trip plus tire kicking time, then gas for two cars and my work schedule just made that one impossible. Oh but I was tempted.
I have no problem with craigslist at all just the scammers there. Also the scammers on Ebay and the little nickel for that matter. |

Here is another good one I got yesterday:
"Thanks for the mail, I will like to know the final selling price and
some pictures of it and also calculate the shipping cost to California
because you will be shipping it yourself . Please get back to me with
your full name and contact address, I will have love to come over
and pick the item up my self, but right now I am in the camp for some
project, i am buying this item for my only Child living with hermother in California .I will be making the payment via ( United
States Postal Money Order ) USPS which is the fastest and relaible
online
payment. Awaiting your full name and contact address and also your
#phone so that your payment can be mailed out as soon as
possible.
Thank you "
My ad had pictures too! HAHA |
