thoughts? I'm thinking of picking up this hood and for only 300, it is very tempting.

There is even a car like mine in his ad!! Fate?

I think a normal cowl, or the hood you have would be better. Just MHO.

I'd stick with a normal 1-2" cowl for now until you get the engine going. If its got a fancy hood it has to be fast.

Ewwwww

Looks like a normal cowl hood after Ian's deer smacked into it.

i am not quite as strong minded as aaron on this, i don't think it would ruin your cars looks, but it sure would not make it look better. normal cowl or another Z28 hood.

just because it's cheap does not mean you need it.

basically a repeat of what tony said here.

That hood is way too gaudy. I like how it looks now. Even a 1-2" cowl would be fine, but nothing like that.

Spend your dough on more meaningful mods like headers/cam/brakes..etc..(or a 6 speed) Wink

Dude, i like Black Betty just the way she sits, only my thought! Your car is tight! i am still a fan of the old school wheels as well. The hood in the pic is cool, but your car is crisp, the lines are nice...but i'm an old school guy, heck i may be the last of the center line lovers....

I hate those hoods.

But if you did buy it, open the front of it up. It'd look like a jet intake. Laughing

I kinda like it. I'd probably do the 91-92 Z28 Spoiler with it though.

That's similar to mine and mine is 2 inches at the tallest point but not as wide as the one in the picture. also I opened my cowl so I get the cold air. here is a picture just after I painted it this summer...

Personaly, I love those stinger BB hoods, I always wanted one to have and to open up for my very own when I had a third gen, I have always loved the look and though it's obviously not for everyone, I have to admit, I prefer it's bulky oddness vs. the smooth roundyness of Kenf's 4thgen style manta ray hood...

of course the only hoods I really liked cowl wise for a 3rdgen Camaro were the Harwood 2 1/4 inch or the jongbloed, which unfortunately goes against what I was saying about smooth roundyness... but it's rare to find so it's kind of a moot point

Those hoods look like they don't belong on the car. Too curvy and doesn't blend with the blocky lines of a 3rd gen Camaro. The lines should flow with everything else. Not stand out in a bold way as an obvious add-on. I also think it is a bit trendy and won't look good in the future. Keep searching.

Think about the best looking cars you've seen. They don't stray much from the classic lines. They are usually shiny, have nice color schemes, and a great stance.

we'll see...
I've been spending time just working, saving and straightening the rest of my life out to a nice little thing I can be comfortable with...

I've actually changed my diet a bit, stopped drinking alcohol, soda or most anything with caffiene or sugar in it, water is my new best friend, and I've been off caffiene for over a month now I think, my focus is returning and my body isn't attacking itself as much as it used to be, so I'm a much happier and healthier person lately, sleeping on a regular schedule so to speak, and kind of enjoy it.

considering getting rid of the SS for something a bit more practical, but since gas prices just hit about 2.20 for premium again, I'm in no rush and am enjoying the car again a bit more, haha

Good Job! That's tough to do. I know because I'm in the middle of this exact change over in my own life. One or two of those is tough, changing all of them is really difficult--or can be if you let it. For me I've had to view it as a lifestyle--this is just what I do, regardless of what anyone thinks.

On the hood, I've always liked the SS style hoods--but only on cars with the aero gfx. It looks out of place otherwise, imho. BB hoods are cool too. I've never really been a tall cowl hood guy, unless the hardware underneath requires it of course. Very Happy
