OK so I'm thinking of going with the hrs setup for my new 350 sitting in my garage. Now If I understand correctly I can just get the actual hsr intake and fuel rails and it swaps no prob. I can transfer over all my tpi sensors and junk and be ok right? I guess what I'm asking is I can still rum my stock comp with the 350 chip and the maf will just see more air flow right? Any help will be great guys.
Thanks Tim _________________ Thirdgenless |

Some people can swap the HSR on and run a stock chip.
When I put mine on, the car would barely go down the road without tuning.
You need a different waterneck. You need fuel line adapters.
TB and Sensors swap over. You need certain adapters to run the coolant and sensors in the intake base itself.
Make sure you get the adjustable fuel rail. |

OK Now I have another question for ya. How come summit says that the manifold fill only fit sbc's up to 86'? Whats with that. I just got a 89. Will it still fit or will I have to drill out the intake holes? Here's a link

Thanks for the reply Paul. I was going to make sure to get the adjustable fuel rails. _________________ Thirdgenless |

Strange that it's being listed as Weiand now. Mine's an authentic Holley. Even says so on the base plate just like that picture. Mine definitely has the drilled pattern for both.
It looks like the holes are a little elongated in the picture but hard to tell for certain. You might call Summit and or Holley to verify that they haven't changed the design (which would be retarded if they did.)
Ian's Stealthram was on his Post '87 headed 305. On Holley's site their kits all say early/late heads.

| Paul, Holley is selling the bare HSR under the Weiand brand now, while the Commander950 kit is still under the Holley name. |

OK I guess I'll have to call holley. I was boggled by that since Ian was using it on his 305. I have no idea why they would change the design of it all of a sudden. _________________ Thirdgenless |

Mine was drilled for both bolt holes and Holley used to sell a "kit" to use it on post-86 motors which basically consisted of angled bolt spacers. Their "kit" was like $65 but I just went to Tacoma screw and bought the same thing. I think it was a 15* spacer but I'm not sure. And that was around a buck per spacer (you need four). I'd opt for an aftermarket regulator. I finally had mine give up the ghost on the way to cows but I've heard it's a fairly common problem. I went with a Kirban adjustable meant for a GN that bolted right on. I trimmed the coolant passages off the TB and ran with a mid-80's chev truck waterneck and it fit well. I also had to grind on the TB's cable guide to get it to clear the fuel rail crossover fitting which wasn't a big deal. I never even tried using the stock plenum gaskets, always had a good seal with sealant.
I ran it fine with the stock chip until I got the prominator on there.
Check out www.stealthram.com if you already haven't. _________________

Depends on the Throttle Body Ian.
The straight pull throttle bodies need no extra clearancing. The wrap arounds doo.
I've run the same type manifold without special washers. Just use washers and the bolts contour the washers. No leaks. |

Oh I was just trying to recall all the things I had to do to mine. My memory sucks.
Oddly, I tried the TB from my buddy Alex's 85, my old 87 and my 91 and none of them cleared the fuel line fitting? |

| I've had an '85 TPI, '87 TPI and Holley 58MM TB on my HSR and had no problems with any fittings. Maybe I picked the right combo upon installation? |

Thanks for the help guys. I think this is what I'm looking for.

Tell me if that won't work but I'm pretty sure that by reading the install notes that it would go right on. _________________ Thirdgenless |

Is that for vortec heads?
EDIT: That's crazy, it has provision for both bolt patterns? |

See thats why I was asking if that would work for me. I know I don't have vortec heads but like you said it says that it has provisions for both. So will it fit? I guess to know for sure I will have to call tomorrow. _________________ Thirdgenless |

| If it has provisions for both then you're cool but the bolt holes are in completely different spots. I've just never seen a manifold with both sets of bolt holes. Although it may be one of those you specify when you order things, who knows. |

| I don't think it's possible to have provisions for Vortec AND something else. |
