If you're pulling the motor/trans then you don't actually have to pull the torque arm out, just under the bolts for the front mount that go into the trans tailshaft. I will warn you, depending on where your jackstands are there may be a ton of pressure either pushing up or down on the end of the torque arm. I almost lost the tips of my fingers when I pulled it the first time! Very Happy

Oh they're not easy to get to at all. Laughing It's been so long since I looked at a stock crossmember that I forget what they look like but the way I do it is unbolt the crossmember and with a jack under the trans I let it hang a bit down so I can reach the bolts.

Really not difficult at all. I've always had the front and the rear jacked up at the same time. Rear jackstands on the subframe like you stated. Remove the nuts from the torque arm at the rear housing mount, then use a large punch to tap them up and out. Pull or hammer lightly, the torque arm off the rear. Pull torque arm out of trans mount, lift up and down while pulling. Never had any trouble that way. Smile

That's how mine came off when I swapped the rear end. Pulled the torque arm out of the trans mount while the rear was out so I could clean it up and throw some paint on it.

Nope, leave em be. Just grease up the end before you re-install it.
