|
|
Took my front sway bar and wonder bar off today, and both are badly bent. The sway bar is twisted about 1/4", and the wonder bar is pretzeled badly enough that I can rock it on a flat edge.
I'm hoping somebody has at least the sway bar, if not both sitting in their garage. I don't want to downgrade, so I need at least an IROC, if not WS6 bar.
Thanks. |

He had those two different springs up front courtesy of previous owner IIRC. It's probably been sitting/driven like that for a while. Maybe (?) that could have something to do with it? My guess though would be a good hit on one side, again courtesy of previous owner _________________ 92 Camaro

Sadly, I took 2 (34mm) to the scrap steel yard this past week. Tried selling them for over 2 months. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

| I dunno how it happened. When I bought the car one of the front tires was way balder than the other. I figured it was just the springs, but even with all new parts it was still a 1/4" higher on one side. With the sway bar and wonder bar out it's sitting level again. |

I dunno about that. My '85 Z28 didn't come with a 34mm sway bar. Although I think I still have the stock sway bar somewhere, I'll double check tomorrow. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

is it within align able limits? if not i hate to say it, but you may need to have your frame inspected. it will probably be almost an hour of rack time to get it looked at, this cost me $100 a few years back. decide before hand how much you are willing to spend getting the frame tweaked. if they take it off the rack while you spend a week to think it over you have to pay for them to set up the gauges again.. thats about a 1/2 hour on the rack right there.
i had decided before hand how much i was willing to pay for the frame to be fixed, they came back and told me it was bent, and that it could be up to $800 for eight hours on the rack. ended up being straight after only four. |
