|
|
I got a chain mail deal from a friend of mine. Most of it was bs chain mail type stuff, but this one was based on numbers. Could anyone confirm this? I know we import oil and I found a list a while ago that shows who doesn't import oil, but this is the first time I've seen it put together. I know ARCO gas isn't the best, but i would rather put my money towards a gas company that ISN'T supporting an area of the world where so much controversy is spawning from. Not to mention I think we import most of our oil from Canada anyway?
These companies import Middle Eastern oil:
Shell........................... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco......... 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil............... 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway... 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco............................62,231,000 barrels
Citgo gas is from South America, from a Dictator who hates Americans. If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! (oil is now $90 - $100 a barrel)
Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:
Sunoco..................0 barrels
Conoco..................0 barrels
Sinclair.................0 barrels
BP/Phillips............0 barrels
Hess.......................0 barrels
ARCO....................0 barrels |

well dang it all. Glad you could shed some light on that one. I've seen it pop up for a while and haven't been able to find anything disproving it. You must have a better keyword searching brain than I do. |

Funny how that false report makes all the cheap injector fouling gas companies seem better. _________________

Arco saves you money. When you break down you walk or take the bus.

Meh. I NEVER use arco or the like. But, I'd think for DD type non-performance cars it'd fine. I find I get better mileage when not using them but my friends dad is the cheapest rich guy I know. He's used arco for the last 15 years in every car he's owned (e46 bmw, acura tsx, durango, civic, accord, etc) and never seems to have any fuel supply issues out of the ordinary. Maybe he's just lucky though. _________________

He's lucky. I've seen some horrendous things, especially involving Vortec truck motors that are prone to fuel delivery issues anyway. But then again, I see about 300 cars a year so its probably a low percentage, just sticks with you when you think about that 2.00 bucks you saved from not going to Chevron. _________________

Well I guess since my dealership tries to sell an FI Cleaning to every single car/truck that rolls through here I don't see as many of them. |

speaking of oil stuff,
Did anyone notice that the price of oil jumped again today by $10 dollars per barrel?! That is the biggest spike in oil prices in a single day ever!
It has risen over $15 in the past 2 days! I can't believe this, why the hell are we not drilling in california and alaska? I'm sorry, but thousands of miles of frozen tundra and a few caribou are not worth it.
there once was a saying:
"at $35 per barrel, people care about the caribou. at $65 per barrel, people are much less concerned for the caribou. And at over $100 per barrel, F*** the caribou, i'll kill em myself"

Because if we pump the middle east dry first, then we have the oil that is left.
Come on, Canadian Shale oil FTW!!! |

| Spotted one glaring error in that chart right off the bat. BP/ARCO/Union 76 are all the same company. If you look at the pumps at a 76 or arco station it will say right on it that its BP gas. |

Big band aid, not a solution. I just can't see any reason to spoil what is left of the wilderness on our planet. Our current political regime has a lot to do with the oil prices, I'd rather shoot them than some Caribou. _________________

How about we do both then gas will be very affordable. _________________ Thirdgenless |
