Its okay, my "89" is really an 86 berli underneath. But you could never tell by looking at it.
Any idea where you can get a split bumper front end from? Is YearOne expensive? 2nd gens are dime/dozen right now but most are rusty. |

I prefer the white '73 Super Duty T/A with a blue bird on the hood! _________________

The split bumper cars ROCK!
does anyone know if 2nd gens are the same as thirdgens, as in their body panels are interchangeable?
Could you take a 77 and make a 1970 split bumper clone? |
No, they are not. You can check Nastyz28.com for all the details you ever wanted to know about 2nd gens but basically 70-73's interchange (chrome bumper era), 74-77's interchange (big bumper era), and 78-81's interchange (urethane bumper era), although there were alot of minor changes within those years and some body panels will interchange. Here is a link.

On the 2nd gen birds up to 74 had a flat back window and a floorpan made for dual exhaust and th400. After that theres a wrap around back window and different floor.
My dad had a 79 bandit TA. Was lowered in the front and had tan interior.. Bad ass car. I've got a 79 thats in pieces now too, to go along with my 74 formy. Been thinking of a bandit clone. |
