has any one ever been to death valley? i waqs thinking about making a side trip on my way back to oregon to drive through there. worth the several hours (like six) it would add to my trip? i am gonna have three days to get from LA to San Francisco (for a class), i could just stay in LA longer, but i might as well see the sights right?

I'd say go for it. The opportunity is there, why not take it? Take pictures. Wink

Rodney has been there.... I'm sure he will post up tonight. I'd say do it. We have been thinking about going there again but it never times out for us. Usually when we think about it, it's already June and too hot to go.

It might be pretty warm, I think they used to go in March and it was perfect. Be prepared to be warm!

and if rodney does not stop talking in third person rodney will get no dessert, just like he got no desert. Very Happy

odd as it sounds, i woulkd prefer it be 115*. this will be a few weeks after cows.. it's gonna be HOT. it's part of the experience. i'll bring a few gallons of water and sunscreen. t-tops off... 55+ mph. little to no traffic (hot as hell, who is gonna be there?)

Do the Death Valley trip. If you can drive through there at night, Do it. AMAZING just how many stars you can see.

Might want avoid Scotty's Castle unless you like tourist traps.

if a scorpion comes in my car i'll kick it's.... I'll run screaming like a little girl. seriously though, i would be sleeping in my car. i hope no rattlers or scorpions come in. perhaps i'll just stick around until it gets dark and then flee.
