i leave the house intent on going to the home depot today, and my car flashes an SES light, i get the code. 33. (MAF voltage low if memory serves) i flick off the car and investigate. ever since my charging issue last week i have had a melted distribution block, so i look there first, turns out the connections are not so hot, so i tighten them down and get rid of the melted plastic shroud in favor of a rag and zip ties. i check the voltage at the connector for the MAF and get 12.4 volts. same as at the battery posts. good to go. i shut the hood and turn the car on... SES light. i check the codes, i get 33 again, but i let it cycle ot see if there are more. i am also getting gode 34. MAF signal voltage high (if memory serves). this brings questions.

can these two codes happen together? am i wrong about the codes?

so i need some help, can somone with a manual check and see what the codes mean. and perhaps scan in the diagnostic information for me. not bringing my service manual with me to California was a bad idea.

1986 2.8L in case anyone needs to know.

I still happen to have the Code Scanner Manual that I bought several years ago with a reader. According to it, 33 is MAF voltage or frequency high during idle, and 34 is MAF voltage or frequency low during cruise. Since your 2.8 has a MAF sensor, I omitted the MAP stuff which is actually similar.

odd... so i was right about the codes. weird cause both came up during idle. they are gone now, might have just been an issue caused by that bad connection.
