Well, as some of you know, I am a pizza delivery driver. I am also running a 383 with straight pipes. This all adds up to the conclusion I am in the wrong line of work, and the cops seem to think so to.

All I can figure is that people keep calling the sheriff because Im supposedly speeding through their neighborhoods, which is CRAP, my car is just louder than what is reasonable.

First ticket: February 14th, 1am, just taking it for a test drive after installing my new tach, pulled over for a supposedly illegal u-turn.

Second ticket: February 15, fifteen over the posted speed limit. Ok, I deserved that one.

Third thicket: February 18, defective exhaust. Exact words from the cop, "I didnt get a chance to hit you with the radar, but it sounded like you were hauling ass"

Now, not to bitch, but this is in the middle of a terrible week any way. I had just broke up with a semi serious girl friend. An old friend of mine had gotten himself kicked out of his house, and decided to move in with my family. (We seem to just keep taking in these stray teenagers)

To top it ALL off. Sunday myself and my father and I just about came to blows over something stupid. Monday I had to find somewhere else to spend a few days because I couldnt handle my house.

On the up side, scored some pretty parts Very Happy

They are used and not perfect, but they were only $20

Well, these are not my first tickets, so I have a lawer I go to. He usually charges $270 per speeding, but because of my military stuff, and I come in every other month, he gave me the U-turn and the 15 over for $425. He was even ok with the fact I am going to have to owe him for a little while.

I am doing some exterior "Free" mods on my car and driving my mom's car for the next few weeks. I also have a muffler picked out, but its expensive, and I will not be able to buy it until I have another job.

I want the 31 inch long one, I am just not sure I can make it fit myself. I also havnt finished researching whether I want it right by the tail pipe, or up closer to the headers.

Heh, that's not going to help the noise at all. It might mess up the exhaust flow, and maybe get the illegal exhaust ticket thrown out, but that's about it.

Well, My exhaust doesn't make the right turn after the rear axle, it just dumps. Myself not knowing how to weld I have no idea how to get anything other than one of these glass packs on there.

I cant afford to have a shop do it, since I currently have no job.

Any one want to weld a 90 degree into my exhaust?

Which magnaflow? I've got their standard stainless steel one on my bird with long tube headers.

And yes, the second dump should've been another gear lower. Oh well.

OK! I have it now.

Total for my red neck no weld teenager special? Under $150. (Ouch, but the muffler shop wanted $300)

My thinking is, I can use that connector to join up the 90 degree to my existing exhaust system. Then, I just mount this 40 inch magnaflow parallel to my rear bumper, pointing out the drivers side. I can then mount the tip, pointed right at the center yellow line.

No welding, and with a 34 inch long case, and a 7 inch diameter, on a 3 inch piece of pipe, it ought to quiet down alot, right?

Fedora FTW, Ian. Laughing

I'm a little confused on what you plan to do with your muffler though. Magnaflow doesn't make a 40 inch muffler that I know of, and if they did, it's not going to fit in the stock position like that.

Its a 34 inch long case, 40 inches long overall. (From the back of the car) I just plan to add one more left turn, towards the drivers side, behind the rear tires, put the muffler there, and then have it continue out the drivers side. I havn't measured, but I think there would be ALMOST enough room. Wost case, I have to go down one size.
