Well, after a nice chat with a dude at the DMV two weeks ago, I found out that if I simply let the registration on my Camaro lapse more than one year, I wouldn't have to pass emissions. Conveniently that happened last Wednesday, so it's back on the road again. Very Happy

Crappy rainshower kinda ruined these pics, but you get the idea:

The good:

...and the mess:

...and the ugly:

Plus the new guages!:

Better pics when it's not pouring rain.

So what now? If you don't buy new tabs and let the registration expire, you don't have to pass emissions? Or if you keep it current you don't have to?

I like your cluster by the way. Cool Autometer ultralites rock.

No, I have tabs. See apparently since you only need to pass emissions every two years, and 2008 is not one of the years my car needs to pass, then I don't need it this year.

I will need to pass again next year, but since the only thing it needs right now is a new cat, it's an easy pass.

Nah, cars that are between five and 25 years old are tested every other year in "metropolitan" counties like Pierce.

Tuesday's cool. Are you still running the truck all over, or are you back behind a counter again?

I'm a counter jockey for now. I had a little incident with Tacoma PD and spent a night in jail. Now I can't drive the truck. But now I make commission! Laughing Doesn't change the fact I still give crewbies cost + 10 though. *Merciless plug...*

What? You'd think donuts in the street would be legal or something. It was an accident, I swear, I gassed it to hard in the intersection and would up facing the wrong way. Sucks that there were two cops on the corner at the bar. Embarassed

they jailed you for that?

*similar story without getting caught.
so i pick my sister up at her place and start driving to my house. we go down her long windy street and are crossing a large street when she says " crap i forgot my purse". i check the mirror and there is no one behind me. cross traffic is stopped and there are no police, and the small street i am crossing onto has no traffic. i clear the intersection, and about 3 car lengths later rip the ebrake up to do a hasty 180*. it goes off flawlessly. "shizzle, hello officer" i say as i see that a cop is approaching the intersection facing me in the lane i just left. the street is real windy, so he is oriented 90* to me but he comes around with the street and stops (light had cycled to red). i thought for sure he saw my little stunt. but when it turned green he went through the intersection and continued on. i was one lucky son of a B.

my move was on purpose however. making it much worse.

Well, I didn't even know they were there. Their cars were parked on the side of the building. So I dumped it again and took off on my merry way. Pulled over a bit later to call some friends and four cop cars showed up and dragged me away. Whoops.

Good story to tell the ladies, although you might want to change it to, " I knew there were these cops, but I am Knight Rider....."

Laughing No, I deserved the reckless driving ticket but they're cracking down on stuff like that here in Tacoma and I assume wanted to show me how serious they are with a night in jail. That's okay, I slept through most of it and I didn't even have to post bail because I have no record! Very Happy

F*n a Ian, that's crazy. Was it just the wreckless driving charge, or did they peg you for something else too?

Assuming you where directing that towards me, I live over by Puget Sound hospital, and the car is an '87 IROC. You're over on Alaska by Wapato?
