At the terminal with #1 plug wire on it.
You need to make sure that it is on the intake stroke, and not the exaust stroke also. STOCK, they say #1 is at 4 o'clock, but you just need to make sure that at TDC on the intake stroke, whereever the rotor points, is #1. |

When the crank is at TDC of the FIRING stroke.
Remeber, it hits TDC twice, but only fires once. |

the distributor swap is done! i didnt really get a chance to tell you guys thats what i was doing...
for some reason i just decided to pull it out by myself around 4:00, and with a few tests trial & error i got it right! runs perfect without any pinging like with the old distributor! _________________

Very nice.
might do a doublecheck of the timing to make sure everything is running tip-top. _________________

So the timing chain never solved the jumping timing I take it? good to hear you finally fixed it though. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S
