So last night I had ordered my exhaust/intake for the regal on my CREDIT card, at which point about 20 mins later my bank calls up to confirm. Which is fine.

This morning I get a call from my bank from the fraud department for my DEBIT card, which I missed since I was at work. Well, I go out for lunch to Taco Bell, and the lady says "I'm sorry sir, but your card was declined" at which point I'm thinking someone stole all my money and I'm SOL for rent and all my other bills. So I rush home, check out my balance, everything seems normal. Found the thing on answering machine. Called up the bank, found that someone got ahold of my debit card number and tried spending like 1600 bucks in various places.... apple store and a bunch of random sites that no one's ever heard of, all of which have "donation" links on their sites.

My bank ended up freezing my account when they saw it, which is why my debit card got declined (though I'm sure the cashier thought I was on my last pennie lol). Very frusterating, and scary all at the same time. I have no idea how my debit card information got out, I only use "secure" lines on known websites for credit/debit transactions.

Whoa! That's freaking. I've always been kinda nervous about stuff like that. It's good your bank shut it down to prevent you losing all your money. What bank do you use?

Most likely you have spam/spywear/virus on your machine.

Over half the people in our office have had some form of ID/bank account theft. When they bring there pc to myself or a co-worker cause somethings not right with it. Its loaded to the hilt with that stuff.

Just something to check out.

Had that happen to me last year, all my charges were made in Asia??? Soon as I got in the office the bank called me and asked if I made these...over 3 grand in eight hours...and months of work disputing all charges, the bank refunded all monies, the police stated these folks would probley never be caught..since the amount wasn't that much...what a pain, feel for you man!!!
