| So far I've heard that Torin is a good name, and to stay away from the Craftsman Aluminum 2 ton low profile jack. |

I'm still looking for a good jack, but I can tell you to not even waste your time with the Harbor Freight stuff.
I picked one up to do the T56 swap, and had it freefall on me while I was lowering the car. Fortunatly the only thing under the car was my right arm, which got a bad bruise from the muffler, but nothing worse. Worse yet, they wouldn't even give me cash back for it. Gift cards only my ass. |

i got a aluminum floor jack from shmucks which summit and jegs are selling. used it for 2 years. the brand is scorpion very light weight. which i bought to replace my harbor frieght floor jack which likes to slowly retract under load.
but just like any craftsman tool they'll brake but you get a free replacement easier than other jacks manufacturers.
if you have a hydralic pump and hose service center in your area they usually fix them like "spokane pump" which they fixed my ram cylinder for my cherry picker a lil cheaper in price for a new one. just ask whats good but just about every jack out there is a clone and can easily repair if they have the ends can be unscrewed. _________________

I bought a harbor freight jack and 2 pairs of their 6 ton jack stands (buy one get one, haha) when I did my header swap in april I guess it was... it's been fine for me... though I won't trust it past a years worth of use at this point, I ended up getting a set of rhino ramps this past month, and though I thoroughly believe their jack stands will actually do well, spending more cash on a jack when I'm living in an apartment complex, at least while I'm in Houston, probably won't happen. I'll use it till it dies, take it back and get a new one at no charge, and just deal with replacing it here and there
Granted, I don't use it nearly as much as some of you guys, so my 9 or 10 months of owning it, it doesn't see a whole lot of use... |

| I have a floor jack from Harbor Freight and it is a great jack. I also have one from sears. the atvantage of the sears jack is that I pump it once and it raises up till it hits the frame or what ever I'm jacking up. But for the price difference, The harbor Frieght tool is by far a better value! |

The napa 2 1/2 ton jack I have I've had for like 5 years. I've beat the crap out of that thing and never had any problems.
They also make a low profile jack too, I think its only a 2 ton rating though. _________________

I have the harbor freight jack as well, the first one I had I returned because it would just drop the car, and it would not release the pressure slowly. So you could not lower the car slowly. The new one I have is still is going strong though. It works much then that team mechanics jack I had at first. I went with the sears jack stands and some other older American ones my grandfather gave me. Plus the china jack stands I had before were starting to deform.
Side note I just noticed that the spell checker only tells you that there is a misstake when you do not capitalize America and not china. lol |
