Quote:
British supercar manufacturer Ultima has celebrated its 15th anniversary in style by shattering the lap record on the Top Gear test track.

The record was held by the Koenigsegg CXX, complete with wing, but the Ultima GTR720 stopped the clock over four and half seconds before the Swedish supercar could cross the line.

I have always had a thing for the Ultima, but man, that is FAST.

I also found this list, from when Ultima set the 1/4 mile for a production car record. WOW

Are those 1/4 times real? That doesn't seem very fast for some of them. Especially the Veyron. That car has access to 1000 ponies! 10.4sec? Pffft. I could build a 6 second car for the same price. And it would probably have a better warranty too.

Have you lost interest in the Arial Atom john?

I was an Ultima fan before the Atom even came out. I saw Tiff Nedel review the original GTR about 5 years ago. I have been lusting after it for a long time. The Arial is a cool car, but I would always have taken the GTR over it in a heartbeat. Something about being a V8, and exotic hardtop look just does something for me.

They Veyron weighs a lot. A LOT.

*Edit: Wikipedia says 4,160lb curb weight. Over two tons.

Im a fan of the Koenigsegg pre making the vents boxy like the new viper. The rounded vent one.

To bad its orginally based off the ford mustang engine. But still one bad ass car and the looks just rock. :leghump:

I like the Koenigsegg, it looks very thought out. Koenigsegg tech

Cd of 0.297 is pretty good, only weights 2600lbs. Supercharged at 14psi for the vert, turbo at 20lbs on the hardtop on a 4.7L 4 valve V8 for both. Looks like fun.
