So today I finally got the t56 put in the iroc today. Got it started went down the road and it was shifting fine. I came to a stop and it didn't want to go out of gear. I got it out and tried to move it over into first, not happenen. So I tried to put it in any other gear. The only one it would go into was sixth then it got stuck there. I went to let the clutch out and it was as if something was stuck or seized. I managed to get it moving in 6th after really having to burn the clutch. I had to stop again and the same thing still stuck in gear. I went to let the clutch out slowly and it was acting like something was locked. so i pushed the clutch in again and whatever was locked broke loose. But its still stuck in 6th. So I now have to get this transmission rebuilt i guess. So its like the tittle says I cant win. Sad

All too familiar.

When I got mine private party..... it wouldn't engage third at all.

While you have it apart... spend the $50 and have them get a steel 3/4 shift fork. The stock aluminum ones tend to break. Well worth it while it's open.

No. Any suggestions Ian or anyone else for that matter. I would like to keep it local. Local as in this state. Oh and if anyone has some suggestions on a lt1 style clutch brand that would help since i will need an new one.

The stealership I work at takes all their tranny's to Valley Gear near Seattle. I haven't had anything done by them but I had planned to take my t56 to them this winter because the second and third gear synchros are almost completely gone. Although everyone on ls1tech swears by Speed Secrets and Ellis.
