I've been wanting to do that kind of thing since I saw a clip of that online a couple years ago but I don't have anything autotragic nor anything new enough. It'd be sweet!

Coolness factor aside, it doesn't seem that great. You're talking about spending 1400 bucks to manually shift a three speed automatic without moving your hand.

Now the six speed auto in a C6 is a different story, but for a 700R4 it seems pretty pointless, since about the only benefit you'd see is a forced 3-2 downshift when cornering.

back when i lived in canada a guy who used to have a 91-92 camaro(cant remember exactly what year) was settin up to do this. i think he had a manual tranny though. not sure if he found a way too do it. i think it would be kinda cool though.

I thought it was kind of a neat way to clean up the interior a bit. It's not like the Hurst shifters look good taking up 3 cu-ft of the interior. Gotta love the classy rubber boot too...

I was just talking about doing this to my tranny. It would probably work better than some since you can program EVERYTHING on the 4L60E. The canadians (Mike and Dan) managed to hack into my PCM this weekend and got the shifts firmed up and my governer removed. Wow what a difference.
