Finally got some time off from work, and pulled the rail off the IROC today. Went fine, until I had to go to the auto store for some stuff. Came back about 30 mins later to find that the fuel return line (the smaller of the two) had puked about a quart of gas into the catch bin, and more on the ground.

Picked the lines up and held them up higher to see if it was just gravity feeding, and that seemed to almost make it worse. By the time I had grabbed the rail of the garage and was starting to hook it up, it was pissing out enough of a stream to give me a little bit of a shower, and a pretty good scare too.

Long story, but I ended up swapping the injectors with the rail on the car (easier than you might think), and bolted everything back down. I pulled the FPR and sure enough the return line was puking right out of the FPR block. Bolted it all back, and it's just sitting now.

Pump is off, battery is disconnected, why the hell is there so much pressure in that line?

BTW, this is a stock TPI setup.

No. I figured with the pump it wouldn't affect it. Would that do it? Embarassed

it could have built some pressure up. They are supposed to be vented, but if your charcoal can isn't great, it could be building pressure. I would pop the gas cap, and see if your pressure goes away.

Actually, now that you mention it, I'm sure you're right. Lately I've had problems with a lot of pressure in the tank being released when I pop the cap to fill it up on especially hot days. Embarassed

Thanks for the help man.

Gas cap. Uncap it to disconnect the system. Keeps it from self-syphoning. If you put the cap back on and the lines are still disconnected.... on a hot day the heat will create pressure that will start the syphon again.

Laughing

That's exactly what I was going to say. When Al, tony and everyone were swapping his motor and we disconnected the fuel lines it was still just slowly peeing gas out and I couldn't figure out why. A few minutes and I realized we never popped the gas cap.
