I punched it going around a corner at a 3 way intersection, 1st to 2nd and the car is howling like something straight from hell... get to the next 3 way intersection and look into my rearview mirror...
Cop, sitting right behind me, no lights going, nothing...
Guy follows me through 3 stop signs, a good mile and a half worth of stuff just going through some residential area... hits the lights at a church (of all places, that bastard) and I slowly pull in... after I realized he was behind me, I don't think I went any faster than 35 the entire 1½ to 2 miles, was fairly easy on it... I stop the car, hit the hazards, kill the ignition and wait, hands on the wheel... windows were already down.
First thing I hear is "Good Evening... So... GMMG huh?"
I was sitting there thinking "what in the hell..." so I reply "Yes sir, how did you know?"
Cop: "I had that very system on my 99 SS... do you have any tuning done? You seem like you're running a little rich"
my heart stopped beating so quickly, and we probably sat in the parking lot chatting about cars for 15 to 20 minutes Apparently he currently owns a 03 black lightning
he said he just wanted to check my car out.
no warnings, no tickets, nothing... just a hand shake and a take it easy.
I get some kickass cops pulling me over apparently |

BTW, I hate you. why does this stuff never happen to me.
Closest I have to getting out of ticket, was walking away with an $83 fine on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation for going 130. |

because you just look like you deserve a ticket most of the time?
I dunno... You and Selma could have a ticket comparo and would probably be pretty close to the same amount for the same violations She hates that my ticket to warning or no ticket ratio is in favor of warnings/no tickets
I dunno... out of the 3 tickets I've received, I probably deserved the two down here in TX, but the one in WA was a some bunk shizzle from a prick trooper. |

Yeah I've had a cop like that. Awhile ago I got pulled over for spinning my tires on an incline in the rain coming out of a parking lot.
Officer - "You know, you really aughta keep you foot outta the gas when it's wet out like this."
Me - "uh, yeah, but I was trying to get out and I have a sticky throttle and my tires spun and I had to just stick with it to get in front of the car and it was on an incline too."
him - "Yeeaahh, I know how it is, I got a 72 Chevelle with a 454 BB, 3" dual exhaust, 3200 stall, and a B&M ratchet shifter putting down damn near as much HP as it has cubic inches."
I was like "niiice! How's it run in the 1/4?"
Him - "Well The motor isn't completely broken in yet but I'm shootin for 11's"
He let me off without a ticket and just told me to keep my foot out of it. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

Closest I came was once when my dad was out of town and I was driving his '94 Camaro (before I bought it) to work 'cause my '83 Z was in the shop. I hit an I-5 on ramp and passed several slow moving vehicles as I accelerated to speed. As I start to merge onto the freeway I notice a big white sedan keeping pace right next to me out of the corner of my eye. I am afraid to look, knowing what I will see. Finally I look and sure enough it is a Washington State trooper. He just looks at me and shakes his head and then speeds up and drives away! Got lucky that time! I gotta say the WSP has always been cool to me. Tacoma PD is a different story... _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

Lucky! you and your SS....doing burnouts!
I have had my share of luck too, CHP once watched me drive thru a RR xing with arms down, he had to sit there and boil while the train went by, then he caught up to me, man was he hot, and I was drinking. He let the wife drive home.
Later, caught with a loaded 44 in map pocket, open beer, expired tags and no insurance. CHP took the gun and gave me a ticket. At court the charges were no insurance. Great I thought, what about my gun. Judge told me to get it from the clerk, I signed for it and left. _________________

Best one I got out of was racing a friend with a FWD Eclipse in my 01 Camaro. Musta been doing about 60-70 down burnside in Gresham, I see a car go the other way, turn around with lights on....oops.... Rick in the Eclipse runs the Left turn signal on Division, and just goes like hell.
I slow down, pull into a gas station parking lot, kill the engine, and put hands, registration, insurance card on the dash, and roll the window down....praying to God the Cop goes after my buddy.
he rolls up behind me, and it unfolds like this:
Cop: "Good evening, sir..."
Me: "hey"
Cop: "That's a nice car you have there...V8?"
Me: "No sir, Six Cylinder"
Cop: *nodding* "Well, I'm sure you know why I have you stopped..."
Me: Yeah...
Cop: "yeah, well the streets aren't really the place to be fooling around and going fast. You're liable to hurt someone or your car, or yourself. If you are going to race, take it to the track. Have a nice evening."
Me: *jaw hanging down*....Thank you?
I thought for sure I was getting a big fatty ticket. _________________

cops are pretty leniant when you comply completely and admit that you're wrong.
Of course crying always got my mom out of tickets... |

Tru, dat.
It's wierd because I have gotten pulled over a few times in the Ford, but only once in the IROC. The Ford is white though... that tips them off. |
